Uttar Pradesh govt to provide free wi-fi facility for people within 50 meters of village secretariat

Uttar Pradesh government will provide free wi-fi facilities at more than 58 thousand places in the villages of the state. This internet facility will be available for the people within 50 meters of the Gram Sachivalaya (village secretariat) building which is being built in every Gram Panchayat of the state.

In order to make every village a smart village, high-speed internet connectivity will be provided to the village secretariats and free high-speed Wi-Fi internet facility will be provided to the villagers within a radius of 50 meters of the village secretariat building. The process of establishment of village secretariats in 58,189 gram panchayats of the state is going on continuously.

The government informed that the Gram Panchayat office was being established in the name of ‘Gram Sachivalaya’. Arrangements are also being made to ensure that all the documents/records/documents required by the villagers can be obtained through Panchayat Assistant/Common Service Center (CSC) in the village secretariat.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday announced free wi-fi facility for people within 50 meters of the Gram Sachivalaya (village secretariat) building in every Gram Panchayat of the state, the chief minister’s office said in a series of tweets. The CMO said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision is to make the villages of Uttar Pradesh ‘Smart Villages’.”In view of this vision of a smart village, it has been decided by the government to provide high-speed internet connectivity to the village secretariat of the Gram Panchayat,” it said.The CMO said that reliable internet connectivity is essential for full development of the potential of the rural people residing in gram panchayats and for promoting new economic activities. It added that the process of establishment of village secretariats in 58,189-gram panchayats of the state is going on continuously.

Meanwhile, UP CM Yogi Adityanath along with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today inaugurated a guest house accommodation for tourists in Haridwar. The guest house, which has 100 rooms, was built by the Uttar Pradesh government at the cost of Rs 43.27 crores. Yogi said that Uttarakhand has ample opportunities for eco and spiritual tourism and guest house will be beneficial for lakhs of youth.
